Dentistry for Kids

At Northgate Smiles, we strive to make our practice friendly and welcoming for every member of the family. We love to see young faces when they visit the office for their dental check-ups. Our staff makes sure that kids’ early experiences at the dentist are positive, while at the same time teaching them how to care for their teeth.

The First Dental Visit

Our Seattle pediatric dentists, along with the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, recommends that kids visit the dentist when their first tooth erupts or when they turn one year of age. (whichever comes first).

Checkup Time

Unfortunately, kids are prone to getting cavities. This is why we also recommend that children visit us every six months for a dental checkup.

We do everything possible to keep kids comfortable during dental treatments — from providing TV monitors in our exam rooms to providing nitrous oxide on request. And of course, every child gets a toy from the treasure box after their visit!
